We believe the Bible is the Inspired Word of God, the written record of His supernatural revelation of Himself to man, infallible (without error), absolute in its authority, final in its content. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21
We believe God eternally exists in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father is the Creator and Ruler of all things. God is eternal, all-powerful, allknowing and ever present. He is perfect in love, justice and holiness, and worthy of all glory, honor and praise. Genesis 1:1, Genesis 2:7, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14
We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, voluntarily died on the cross for our sins, and was bodily raised from the dead. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, acting as an intermediary on our behalf. One day Jesus will return to earth and initiate the consummation of human history. Isaiah 7:14, John 1:1, John 1:14, Philippians 2:5-8, 1 Peter 3:18
We believe that God the Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the scriptures. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He enables Christians to understand truth. He dwells in the hearts of every Christian from the moment of salvation. He bestows spiritual gifts on believers for the purpose of serving His Church. He comforts and intercedes for believers. He enlightens and empowers them to worship, to evangelize and to serve. Acts 2:38, Romans 8:26-27
We believe all of humanity is born with a sin nature, that the heart of man is basically evil. Romans 7:18, Romans 3:23
We believe in the substitutionary death of Jesus on the cross to atone for the sins of humanity. We believe that three days later God bodily raised Him from the dead. We believe that one day Jesus will literally return to earth. 1 Corinthians 15:3-5, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 5:8, John 14:3, 1 Corinthians 15:52
We believe that salvation involves the forgiveness of sins, transformation of character, deliverance from sin, and the gift of eternal life are promised to those who trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We believe that salvation comes by putting our trust in Jesus, repenting of sins, confessing our faith and being baptized into Him. John 3:16-17, Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9-10
We believe the Church is the body of Christ-followers under the authority of Christ. We believe that love should be shown to all people at all times. We believe the mission of the Church is to reach the spiritually lost for Jesus Christ, to teach them about Christ. Acts 2:42-47, John 13:35, Matthew 28:18-20
We believe that Heaven is a place created for Christ and His people and that Hell is a place created for the devil and his angels. We believe that Heaven and Hell are real places, and each of us will spend eternity in one place or the other. John 5:28-29, Revelation 21:1-4
Greenwood Christian Church exists to glorify God by equipping believers to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Through worship, teaching, and community engagement, we aim to deepen faith and empower individuals to live out their faith boldly, reflecting Christ’s love in all they do.
Family ministries strengthen faith within the home, supporting parents and children. They create environments that empowers kids and teens to grow spiritually and build strong relationships.
Greenwood supports over two dozen missionary programs globally, including overseas missions, U.S. church planting, Christian education, service agencies, and local outreach, all coordinated through our Missions Ministry to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
